Iran becomes UN disarmament leader
What???
Yes, it's true. Only in the U.N. would anyone consider the most aggressively antagonistic and hateful regime on the planet, the world's leading supporter of terrorism, and the most likely to spread nuclear weapons to every terrorist on the planet - as a candidate for, no, actually elect, as a Vice-Chair!
Anne Bayefsky writes at Eye On The UN:
... "On April 10th the UN Disarmament Commission elected Iran as one of its three Vice-Chairpersons. Afterwards, the UN's Under Secretary-General for Disarmament Affairs, Nobuaki Tanaka, said the Commission "played a unique role" with "the advantage of being a fully universal deliberative body.""And from IsraelNationalNews, "Iran Threatens to Destroy Israel, Elected to UN Commission,":... ... the new Iranian Vice-Chairperson. Mehdi Danesh-Yazdi sought to reassure his UN comrades about Iran's disinterest in acquiring nuclear weapons by stating: "the national security of non-nuclear-weapon States was in deep jeopardy." A not-so-subtle indication of the rationale behind Iran's sprint to the nuclear arms finish-line.
Iran's leaders have reiterated their call for Israel's annihilation, announcing the advancement of the Iranian nuclear program, and winning a seat on the United Nations' Disarmament Commission. It's comforting to know that the UN is protecting the world from whacko Islamist fascists and that the new Vice-Chair overlooking the disarmament efforts is none other than an appointee of the supreme nutcase - Iranian president Mahmoud Ahmadinejad.Islamic Jihad chief Ramadan Abdallah Salah also praised Iran's nuclear ambitions. "Every Muslim, Arab and Palestinian will be happy to see a Muslim state realizing its scientific potential. No power in the world has the right to prevent a Muslim nation from building itself or to stop its development."
Yes, of course it's a joke!
