'Man of the People' Finally Emerges
Following the conclusion of the Israel-Hezbollah war, Hezbollah immediately declared victory and victory parades were held in Damascus and Tehran. Interestingly both Syria and Iran denied they supported Hezbollah through military means until after the war was concluded. Pundits from all across weighed in as to who the real victor was, but what was really odd is that most pundits within Israel believed Israel had fallen short but there were several voices within the Arab press who wrote Hezbollah lost.
Hezbollah's leader Hassan Nasrallah fled within the first couple of days of the conflict and was only seen in short, tapes television addresses as to avoid detection by the IAF. Since Nasrallah has always billed himself as a man of the people, as time passed on without the fiery rhetoric of Nasrallah within Southern Lebanon and suburbs of Beirut people began to wonder what exactly had Hezbollah achieved.
Fear not Nasrallah followers, when you start having a fruit named after your leader during Ramadan you know he's made the big time. Most leaders dream of having a street named after them, or perhaps a building of some kind, but I suppose it's a good thing to have fruit named after you too. Nasrallah is, after all, a fruit; figuratively and now literally.
During Nasrallah's 'victory' speech, held within the bombed out Beirut suburbs to apparently show how victorious Nasrallah was at staying alive (?), Nasrallah claimed Hezbollah "has recovered all its organisational and military capabilities" and that it is "stronger than it was before July 12." The puppets present numbering in the thousands cheered wildly as they tried not to trip over the rubble.
But even more troubling, depending on whether we choose to believe Nasrallah or not, is that he claimed Hezbollah now had over 20,000 rockets. Pre-war estimates placed around 12,000 rockets in Hezbollah's hands. It is believed Hezbollah fired 4,000 rockets, into purely civilian areas by the way intending on killing Israeli civilians, therefore they would have been left with 8,000 without taking into account what the Israeli military destroyed.
But we know the Israeli military destroyed several of those rockets as we've seen clips of Hezbollah firing off a few, retreating into a house and being bombed. So let us put that figure of what is remaining at around 4,000, which is being generous to Hezbollah's stealth ability and critical of Israel's air power. Where did these added 16,000 rockets come from in a matter of around two months while Israeli soldiers were still on the ground, the Lebanese military moved in and UNIFIL slowly but surely is deployed to the region?
We're left with a few plausible actions in this regard. The Lebanese military did nothing to prevent these shipments. This is almost assured as it hasn't before. UNIFIL did nothing to prevent these shipments. Again, this is almost assured as it hadn't before because that was never their mandate. The Israeli military did nothing to stop these shipments. I have a hard time believing this and I don't believe it. Even if you're a conspiracy nut and believe Israel wants to be attacked again the remaining 4,000 rockets could have been used rather than the supposed additional 16,000 rockets Nasrallah claims Hezbollah has now.
Or we can look at this entire scenario through the eyes of Nasrallah. We look to our left and to our right and we see supporters praying to you, not for you, but to you. We look at Northern Lebanon, which was relatively untouched during the war, and the ire of all non-Hezbollah supporting Lebanese is growing daily for starting the war. We look at the toothless Lebanese government and try to force them into our power more. We recognize the alliance with both Syria and Iran and recognize how the international community saved our face by forcing a cease-fire even when we had been asking for one since the second day of the conflict.
Why would Nasrallah do anything other than declare victory and make loud claims to further catapult his own standing and the standing of the so-called 'party of God?' It would be a strategic failure to do anything different because Nasrallah has risen to power partly because he says he is doing Allah's will. To Nasrallah and all other Islamists out there, they do believe Allah wishes people kill innocents within and outside of their own faith. Kill a Muslim, fine. They'll just go to Allah faster. Kill an Infidel, great. They were on borrowed time anyways.
Nasrallah is a master of deception only because his followers blindly listen to him and don't question what he says. Name anywhere in the world outside of the Tehran nexis where a peaceful political rally would be interrupted several times by calls in unison for death to whomever, the vast majority of whom have no clue what they are actually calling for the death of. Death to our ability to think of our own and death to the philosophy we can dictate what we want to do; those are the calls the masses repeat to the Nasrallahs of the world ready to take away basic human rights for a chance at increased power.
I don't know how many rockets Hezbollah has, but I seriously doubt Nasrallah does either. We've seen countless times over military commanders overestimating their own capability when reporting to leaders who would not blink before ordering one's execution. But we, that is those of us who recognize Nasrallah for what he is, must recognize that by not questioning Nasrallah's claims only strengthen him.
Even if we conclude Hezbollah has half the supposed rocket arsenal Nasrallah claims, and again that's being very generous, those 10,000 rockets will again land in cities like Haifa the next time Hezbollah chooses to be adventurous and carry out the very reason why their group was founded in the first place. It's not to defend Islam as Nasrallah always claims, but rather to destroy a nation. Nasrallah appears to have destroyed one nation already, Lebanon, but he seeks to destroy another nation in Israel.
What would stop this great ambition from venturing beyond the small confines of the Middle East bordering the Mediterranean? Surely if we are to believe Allah seeks to kill the Apostate and Infidel nothing would stop them.
