More Good News From Iraq - 'Iraqis hate al-Qaeda, too'

In spite of the "weeks before the election 'time to cut and run and the sky is falling in Iraq'" hoopla that we are being bombarded with 24/7 by the Democratic leadership and their propaganda arm comprised of a majority of the MSM, there's light at the end of the Iraq tunnel after all, and if you dont trust the U.S. military's word, all you have to do is listen to Al-Qaeda's own propaganda and the United Nations:

"Light at the end of the tunnel" was one of those optimistic phrases from the Vietnam War that was widely mocked, until political pressures led the U.S. to abandon Vietnam. The light became the oncoming train of another Cold War cliche, "the Domino Effect," as Vietnam, Cambodia and Laos fell into decades of communist oppression, unspeakable violence and chaos.

But that's old news. Last week, there was a glimmer of hope in the news from Iraq. Al-Qaeda is on the ropes and sounding desperate, and Iraqis are gaining confidence in their own government and its forces.

A new recruiting video by the emir of al-Qaeda in Iraq, Abu Hamza al-Muhajir, brags of the loss of 4,000 foreign fighters in Iraq. He assures budding martyrs their ardent wish for death in righteous battle will be achieved.

The emir also pitches to scientists with nuclear, biological and explosives expertise: "We are in dire need of you. The field of jihad can satisfy your scientific ambitions, and the large American bases are good places to test your unconventional weapons, whether biological or dirty, as they call them."

It's al-Qaeda's version of "Be All You Can Be." One fly in the ointment:A U.N. report claims al-Qaeda's foreign fighters want to kill Americans and don't like being told to martyr themselves in suicide attacks on other Muslims.

Al-Qaeda in Iraq has recruiting problems. Allah be praised!

Iraq the Model (Hat tip - Belmont Club) has further updates on the situation in Baghdad. Things appear to be quiet and word on the ground is, as reported by Bill Roggio, that the preemptive operations undertaken in connection with the curfew were directed at an al-Qaeda cell and not Sadr.

An alternative explanation is that it wasn't al-Qaeda at all but some Sunni politicians trying to mount a "coup". According to Deutsche Presse-Agentur (Hat tip - Belmont Club via Pajamas Media )
