Iran Watch: North Korea And Iran Working Together To Develop 'Killer Missile'

Bill Gertz at The Washington Times reports that Iran and North Korea are working together to develop long-range missiles capable of delivering their nuclear weapons, and the Pentagon believes Iran has a "new intermediate-range ballistic missile or space launch vehicle [SLV] in development.

Meanwhile, the al-Guardian is still trying to convince us to leave Iran alone, as Iranians' proxies in Iraq are running for cover and the Iranians themselves, as their agents are being rounded up and threatened with death, have turned on a charm campaign.

North Korea is assisting Iran in planning an underground nuclear test, which could take place by the end of 2007.

And in what amounts to a "Better late than never" statements, President George W. Bush says he will respond "firmly" if Iran steps up "military action" in Iraq in a way that hurts U.S. troops or Iraqi civilians.

Powerline offers a domestic political perspective on the problem:

A day or two ago, Hillary Clinton demanded, in her usual schoolyard-bully manner, that President Bush resolve the situation in Iraq before he leaves office, rather than leaving it for the next administration. If she had any sense, she would be demanding that he do something about Iran, rather than leaving that problem for the next administration--potentially, hers. Of course, if she did that, someone might ask her to make a constructive suggestion as to what, exactly, the administration should do about Iran, and thereby violate the Democrats' strict code of silence on that topic.
As we all have learned by now, when we want to know what's wrong with an administration policy, the Democrats have much to offer. On the other hand, we need not bother asking them for solutions, plans, or even constructive suggestions with helpful intent.

As for North Korea and Iran, we can sit around and twiddle our thumbs while two of the nuttiest regimes on the planet develop atomic bombs and the means to deliver them to American cities, or we can ...
