Europe Unwilling And Unable To Fight
Admiral Sir Alan West, former First Sea Lord of the Royal Navy, says that it's completely outrageous for any nation to go out and arrest the servicemen of another nation in waters that don't belong to them. However, as Victor Davis Hanson notes at NRO, if the attack was "outrageous," it was apparently not quite outrageous enough for anything to have been done about it yet.
The problem lies in the fact that Europe, and the West as a whole, have evolved beyond a need for war in dealing with logical nations. However, Iran is a country so wretched as to have nothing left to lose, is so spiteful as to be willing to lose much in order to hurt others a little, and so crazy as to welcome the "end of days."
