Message To Journalists: 'Report What's Happening In Iraq' And Let The Surge Succeed
Robert Kagan has a message for American journalists - they don't have to start emphasizing the "good" news. All they have to do is report what is occurring, though it may conflict with their previous judgments.
Leading journalists have been reporting for some time that the war was hopeless, a fiasco that could not be salvaged by more troops and a new counterinsurgency strategy. And apparently some are still selling books based on the premise that the war is lost, end of story, which offers more than a little evidence of their bias.
As Kagan suggests, it's time they begin writing a new chapter in their story.
