So Disturbing Beyond All Reason
So disturbing beyond all reason, sanity, and human compassion, this video needs all the exposure it can get. You've seen excerpts on cable news, have likely seen it on other blogs or YouTube, but as many times as you've seen it, has the real message gotten through to you yet?
Palestinian TV is showing a music video in which a four-year-old girl sings the praises of her suicide bomber mother and vows to follow in her footsteps. The little girl grasps a stick of dynamite from a drawer in her mother's dressing-table and says: "I will follow Mummy":
The shocking footage has been aired repeatedly on Al-Aqsa TV, the official station of the new Palestinian unity government headed by prime minister Ismail Haniyeh of Hamas, which seeks the destruction of Israel. Does this not expose an ugly truth about much of Arab and Muslim culture? How can a culture so strongly accept such an insane and unnatural ideology and not be recognized as sick and broken? How can a society that not only accepts, but embraces radical Islam, be "negotiated" with? How can a people that ignore reason ever be considered worthy of nationhood? How is the modern world suppose to consider as equals a people locked in the 5th Century?
For me the message is clear. We are indeed experiencing a clash of cultures, and a culture that encourages a mother, and children, to murder others while killing themselves cannot be reasoned with. As Wafa Sultan describes it, it's "a clash between a mentality that belongs to the Middle Ages and another mentality that belongs to the twenty-first century. It is a clash between civilization and backwardness, between the civilized and the primitive, between barbarity and rationality. It is a clash between freedom and oppression, between democracy and dictatorship."
And armed conflict is inevitable.
The West is at war with radical Islamists which make up much of the Muslim world. We either defeat them, all of them including Iran, become one of them, or die. The West has no other choice, because the Islamists have already made theirs. Secular Muslims and non-Muslims alike face these choices.
