US - Led Forces Strike Taliban Inside Pakistan. So Why Not Eliminate Safe Harbors For Our Enemy?
Finally, the U.S. takes the action it should have taken long ago, striking the Taliban inside Pakistan:
Now, however, the U.S. is claiming the cross border attack was a mistake. But was it? My guess is that the U.S. admission of an error is nothing more than cover for Musharraf.
As for the attack into the tribal area of Pakistan, we should have done so long ago, and if Musharraf doesn't eliminate the safe harbor for the Taliban, we should.
Giving the Taliban a safe free zone and training area in Pakistan is as ridiculous as giving Iraqi Shi'ite terrorists weapons and advisors, a safe harbor, training, in Iran. If a country provides training and refuge for our enemy, shouldn't those areas become targets for elimination? How many U.S. troops have to die before we recognize the fact that so long as we refuse to attack the extremists wherever they are, our guys die unnecessarily?
