On Western Government's Partitioning the World for Islam

Ted Belman at Israpundit charges that Yugoslavia and Israel, two of the current flashpoints of the conflict, are demonstrations of the degree and extent to which the world will go to destroy other countries in order to accommodate Muslims. He is, of course, absolutely right.

The West is essentially rolling-over for Islam:

Why exactly have the KLA and the PLO earned what the Basque of Spain, the Kurds of Iraq, the Armenians and a host of other nationalities been denied? It isn't by any special merit or suffering. It is because they were Muslims who wanted a piece of a non-Muslim country.

Muslims are not getting their way in the Philippines and Thailand, in Kosovo and Israel and in the cities of Europe and America because the governments of these countries love Muslims. It is because they fear upsetting them.

For the first half of the 20th century Western soldiers rode roughshod across the savages and for the latter half of the 20th century Western diplomats did everything they could to sway their chieftains, emirs, dictators, mullahs and tyrants to their side. Those same diplomats would have you believe that the latter is an admission of fault for the former, but the truth is that it is an extension of the former.

Yugoslavia and Israel are not being carved up in the name of morality or liberal democracy or because Muslims have become beloved in Brussels and D.C. No more so than the Nazi Germany was allowed to carve up Czechoslovakia because Western Europeans loved Hitler. They were afraid of him. Not afraid enough to really believe he was a threat, yet too afraid to believe he could be casually stamped out. It is this kind of lukewarm fear that drives the politics of the West toward Muslims.

THERE IS NO COMPATIBILITY BETWEEN DEMOCRACY AND ISLAM!

As an ideology, Islam promises an economic, political, social, and religious utopia when the world finally submits to Allah and the rule of Shari'a law. The Islamic objective is to have all aspects of a nation's culture and institutions undergo gradual Islamization to yield an Islamic state patterned after Shari'a Law.

Most people in the West believe that Islam is a religion in the traditional sense of the word. However, this is a fateful misconception. Islam is not just a religion. It is much more than a religion. Muslims themselves describe their faith by saying, Islam is a Complete Way of Life. This is certainly a more apt description, because Islam is a religious, social, economic, educational, health, political, and philosophic way of life. In fact, Islam is an all-embracing socio-politico-religious utopian ideology that encompasses every field of human endeavor.

The Western view of religion is that a religion is a narrow aspect of life. It does not encompass all human affairs. Religion stands beside culture, economic, politics, and other human institutions. Westerners may differ on matters of religious faith, but they can work together in social, state, and economic affairs. The reason for this is that their respective religions don't claim divine authority over the institutions of governance and economics. Their faiths may differ regarding the salvation of the soul, life after death, and religious rituals, but they don't claim to have divine insight into the institutions of human government and its particular laws. As good citizens, they strive to have a just and equitable society.

Islam is different from other religions in that it is not limited to the spiritual aspects of life. It engulfs all aspects of life from the cradle to the grave. Islam claims to have a divine mandate over everyone, and this includes non-Muslims too. While non-Muslims may not be required to observe the religious rituals of Islam, they must recognize the supremacy of Islamic rule over them.
