Leftist Environmentalism The Old Communism (Updated)

Forget that the ice shelf has been increasing in thickness and that the polar bear population has gone up nearly 150% in the last two decades. Ignore the fact that the Gore film was found to have a number of grievous errors. Forget, too, that many true scientists from all over the world do not accept the myth of man-made climate change.
Green%20Hammer%26Sickle-thumb-120x80.jpgIn other words, we must abandon all common sense and embrace leftist environmentalism which is nothing less than the global elitists' replacement ideology for communism/socialism.

One has to question why the environmentalists have pushed so hard for our forced dependence on foreign oil by blocking us from using the gigantic surplus of oil under America's soil, whether in Alaska's ANWR, Colorado's shale, Montana's coal gasification, or off shore drilling. Given the degree in which the result - sky rocketing gas prices, is destroying the American economy, one then has to ask is the Communist Party now masquerading under a new umbrella called "environmentalism"? The Mystery of the Missing Communist Party is a mystery no more. And it is no coincidence that Vladimir Lenin's birthday is celebrated by the environmentalists as Earth Day.

It seems that if you're an angry anti-American Marxist disoriented by the fall of communism and the end of the Cold War, are a depressed, apocalyptic turtleneck wearer in need of an atheist Armageddon to tout, and/or are tired of speaking for the proletariat only to have them tell you to "shove it" - the answer to your problems is the new "Green" movement which is accepting all the debris of Marxism's collapse, no questions asked.

Yet our politicians are naively flocking to the foolishness of the policies pushed by the enviro-marxists like bees to honey, in spite of the fact that the average of four recent climate temperature studies show that over the past 10 years, the planet has warmed only 0.047 degree Celsius, less than 1/20th of a degree. Recent studies suggest there will be no significant warming until after 2020. The world's climate changes from time to time - that's why they call it "climate." Sometimes it warms, and sometimes it cools. It is not rapidly warming now, threatening our way of life - it is neither warming nor cooling. Yet that does not restrain the enviro-marxist establishment, nor Congress, both presidential candidates, many corporate CEOs and university professors, nor the liberal media, all of whom believe the Earth is warming, requiring an expansion of governmental control system to manage our economy.

Ergo, as noted in the WSJ today, one can easily see where a very "Collectivist" America will be headed.

And very unnecessarily so, to the death of capitalism and freedom. All the enviro-marxist spin can't change the fact that with less heat and less carbon dioxide, the planet could become less hospitable and less green.

To the surprise of those who have been bearish on the planet, the data shows global production has been steadily climbing to record levels, ones not seen since these measurements began:

[...] GPP is Gross Primary Production, a measure of the daily output of the global biosphere --the amount of new plant matter on land. NPP is Net Primary Production, an annual tally of the globe's production. Biomass is booming. The planet is the greenest it's been in decades, perhaps in centuries.

Until the 1980s, ecologists had no way to systematically track growth in plant matter in every corner of the Earth -- the best they could do was analyze small plots of one-tenth of a hectare or less. The notion of continuously tracking global production to discover the true state of the globe's biota was not even considered.

Then, in the 1980s, ecologists realized that satellites could track production, and enlisted NASA to collect the data. For the first time, ecologists did not need to rely on rough estimates or anecdotal evidence of the health of the ecology: They could objectively measure the land's output and soon did -- on a daily basis and down to the last kilometre.

The results surprised Steven Running of the University of Montana and Ramakrishna Nemani of NASA, scientists involved in analyzing the NASA data. They found that over a period of almost two decades, the Earth as a whole became more bountiful by a whopping 6.2%. About 25% of the Earth's vegetated landmass -- almost 110 million square kilometres -- enjoyed significant increases and only 7% showed significant declines. When the satellite data zooms in, it finds that each square metre of land, on average, now produces almost 500 grams of greenery per year.

[...] Lush as the planet may now be, it is as nothing compared to earlier times, when levels of CO2 and Earth temperatures were far higher. In the age of the dinosaur, for example, CO2 levels may have been five to 10 times higher than today, spurring a luxuriantly fertile planet whose plant life sated the immense animals of that era. Planet Earth is also much cooler today than during the hothouse era of the dinosaur, and cooler than it was 1,000 years ago during the Medieval Warming Period, when the Vikings colonized a verdant Greenland. Greenland lost its colonies and its farmland during the Little Ice Age that followed, and only recently started to become green again.

Do or will these facts sway the politicians embracing the Green/Communist/Marxist agenda? One would think so, but don't count on it. The only way we stop it is at the voting booth and letting our politicians know that they shouldn't count on their jobs being secure for very long unless they wake up to where they're allowing themselves to be taken - and our country with them.
