Palestinians Used International Aid To Fund Terrorism
As the European Union meets to seek ways to channel financial aid to the Palestinians and bypass the Hamas government, one need only look to the past to understand why - history shows the PA authority can't be trusted not to use the cash for weapons and terrorism:
Yasser Arafat transferred millions of dollars in international aid and taxes transferred to the Palestinian Authority by Israel to purchase large quantities of weapons, the PA chairman's former financial aide, Fuad Shubaki, has told the Shin Bet (Israel Security Agency). Some of the Israeli money, Shubaki told his investigators, was also used to fund Palestinian terror groups.It's no big surprise that senior Palestinian officials were involved in the allocation of the money to military purposes, given the pathologies which are deeply rooted in Palestinian culture and carefully nurtured by every institution of Palestinian society, and where the glorification of martyrdom saturates the media and spills onto the streets, where fallen suicide warriors are exalted at frenzied funerals.
