Today 2,387,300,000 People Are Slaves
I have often stated that those living under absolute dictatorships are enslaved. This may seem to be metaphorical, an exaggeration to make a point. It is not. It is a literal expression of life under these ruling gangs.
But, I have not taken the time definitively to establish this, so I will do so now. The common belief is that a slave is one who is not only the property of another, but one who may be bought or sold--traditional chattel slavery. Not necessarily so. My Bible on definitional matters is The Oxford English Dictionary. It defines a "slave" as:
