7-Eleven Sends Chavez 'Go To Hell' Message - Drops Venezuela-Backed CITGO
I haven't stopped at a 7 Eleven in years, but I just became their most supportive customer. They can color it anyway they want, but after Chavez's asinine display at the UN, dropping CITGO is perfect timing:
DALLAS (AP) -- 7-Eleven Inc. is dropping Venezuela-backed Citgo as its gasoline supplier after more than 20 years as part of a previously announced plan by the convenience store operator to launch its own brand of fuel.Now, if only the rest of the retailers will send Chavez the same message, he'd at least know that Americans have cojones and aren't going to just sit back and let him and the jihadists roll all over us. Come to think of it, it would even send a stronger message to the jihadists if the Democratic leadership, the CIA, the NYT, and the WaPo, would spend more time working with the administration that was elected by the American people to fight America's enemies, and a hell of a lot less time fighting against it.7-Eleven officials said Wednesday that the company's decision was partly motivated by politics.
Citgo Petroleum Corp. is a Houston-based subsidiary of Venezuela's state-run oil company and 7-Eleven is worried that anti-American comments made by Venezuelan President Hugo Chavez might prompt motorists to fill-up elsewhere.
Chavez has called President George W. Bush the devil and an alcoholic. The U.S. government has warned that Chavez is a destabilizing force in Latin America.
"Regardless of politics, we sympathize with many Americans' concern over derogatory comments about our country and its leadership recently made by Venezuela's president," said 7-Eleven spokeswoman Margaret Chabris.
"Certainly Chavez's position and statements over the past year or so didn't tempt us to stay with Citgo," she added.
Hell, you'd think that the Dem/CIA/NYT/Wapo - crowd could at least be as patriotic as a 7-Eleven!!!
