It's A 'Holy Month' - Time To Riot (Updated)

"Holy": Defined as "Of, from, like, or being a god or God.; living according to a strict or highly moral religious or spiritual system; in the service or worship of God or a god; regarded with particular reverence or respect: blessed, hallowed, sacred, sacrosanct; deeply concerned with God and the beliefs and practice of religion."
Help me out here, I'm trying to connect "holy" with violence and rioting, and not getting much help from the dictionary.

no-rioting-here.serendipityThumb.jpgI do realize that many Muslims have no trouble whatsoever finding a "cause célèbre " to become outraged and committ violence, but could someone please explain to me what Muslim immigrant youths turning nightly rioting during the Islamic "holy" month of Ramadan into an annual tradition has to do with anything related to God, religion, a highly moral or spirtual event, reverence and respect, or being deeply concerned with God and the beliefs and practice of "Islam"?

... It looks as if immigrants youths want to turn nightly rioting during the Islamic holy month of ramadan into an annual tradition. Around 8:30pm last night violence erupted again in Brussels, the capital of Europe. The riots centered on the Brussels Marollen quarter and the area near the Midi Train Station, where the international trains from London and Paris arrive. Youths threw stones at passing people and cars, windows of parked cars were smashed, bus shelters were demolished, cars were set ablaze, a youth club was arsoned and a shop was looted. Two molotov cocktails were thrown into St.Peter's hospital, one of the main hospitals of central Brussels. The fire brigade was able to extinguish the fires at the hospital, but youths managed to steal the keys of the fire engine.

... The immigrant youths claim that they are upset by the death of Fayçal Chaaban, a 25-year old criminal, in a Brussels prison last Sunday. Yesterday morning the authorities announced they would hold a meeting with the youths to hear their grievances about security in prison, but the meeting, which was due last night, could not take place because of the riots.

... The authorities are especially nervous since the Belgian municipal elections are being held on Sunday October 8th. It is likely that the elections will be won by anti-immigrant, "islamophobic" parties. Since ramadan will not be over on October 8th and many immigrants might perceive a victory of the indigenous right (as opposed to their own far-right) as an insult, Muslim indignation over the election results in major cities may spark serious disturbances. According to a poll published today the Vlaams Belang party is set to win 38.6% of the vote in Antwerp (compared to 33,0% in the previous municipal elections six years ago).

Given the events reported by the Brussels Journal, one can only conclude that the rioting Muslim youth are not the least bit interested in anything "holy", and that ramadan or no ramadan (it really doesn't matter) - there really isn't anything that they can't find sufficiently offensive so as to become "outraged" about and react violently - you know, the kind of behavior that Muslims around the world exhibited when the Pope suggested that religion and violence are not compatible. As for Ramadan being a "holy" month, it's becoming very much as Gates of Vienna describes it - "A long period in Islam where one fasts, prays, and sets fire to things. Stones are saved for throwing at human beings alighting from trains.

Of course you're probably wondering why you haven't heard about all these "goings on" from media other than the Brussels Journal, after all, it is certainly newsworthy, wouldn't you think? After all, we "are" talking about the "third day of rioting." Yet not a single photographer has been dispatched to document the activities of the Muslim mob.

From NewsBusters, we have some details:

We have learned from reports in Belgium (which have been roughly translated via Babelfish) that the prisoner was apparently poisoned, and there were no external signs of injury on his body. The parents of the family, and subsequently, the mob, blame the Belgian government for his death, but autopsy reports turned in so far have not been definitive. A more telling video documents some of the reported destruction, but I'm sure there's plenty there that's not covered as well.

In the riots, as reported by the Brussels Journal, stores have been firebombed, bus shelters have been demolished, cars have been set alight, and two Molotov cocktails were thrown into St. Peter's Hospital, which is "one of the main hospitals in central Brussels." Yet amongst all of this meleé, the Associated Press hasn't seen fit to send a photojournalist? Nor Reuters?

The wires' lack of interest in this story is telling, indeed.

By the way, Paul Belian, the writer of the Brussels Journal article is a very brave man. From Atlas Shrugs we learn"

Paul Belian is a personal hero of mine. A man who speaks truth to power at his own peril. The attempts to silence him for writing of the islamofascists speaks volumes to the environment in Europe. Police officers from the "Projectcel Mensenhandel en Vreemdelingen" (Project Cell Human Trafficking and Foreigners) have come to his door more than once to question him about alledged "racist" articles on his website Brussels Journal.

There's that smear again, speak of Islamic fascism and you are a racist. It won't be long before Paul will have to abandon his homeland like Ayaan Hirsi Ali, Orianna Fallaci and escape to America.

Before this war against Islamic fascism is over, if it ever is to end with a West still intact, Europe and their counterparts in the U.S. are going to have to recognize that Islamic fascism is a fact, it is the agenda of Islamists, and they will not stop trying to take over the world and enslave the West, unless we stop them. AS for these rioting Muslim youth in Belgium, have we come to expect anything different - regardless of the occasion or excuse?
