There Are 'Good' Reasons For Talks With Iran And Syria?
Dan Riehl notes that Jules Crittenden and some others seem skeptical of potential talks with Iran and Syria, and although he's a hawk, he believes it makes sense to talk to Iran for some very specific reasons. While I agree with most of Dan's reasons for 'giving talk a chance', there is the very real danger that our side might actually believe what Iran says or promises. Given Iran's more than 20 year history of deceit and lies, there is absolutely nothing that Iran could say or promise that can be believed or trusted. Toss in the fact that Iran's... ... morePosted at 3:23 PM

Israeli Journalist Says Israel Should Use Blogs To Get Truth Out Past Biased Media
Us folks that frequent the blogosphere and participate in it are well aware of the the mainstream media's disgusting and disgraceful habit of virtually parroting Arab propaganda - often word for word (and vice versa in the case of the Democrat's agenda). Now, Michael Freund of the Jerusalem Post (ht - Jeremayakovka and Debbie Schlussel) is saying that Israel should reach out to its many supporters in cyberspace, and especially in the blogosphere, for help in disseminating the truth and better counter the Arab propaganda machine: .... Are The Democrats Imploding? - Part 2
As a young man I remember with fondness my paternal grandfather, a wise old owl, having a fitting old "Proverb," or "Pearl of Wisdom," at the ready for what seemed every imaginable occasion. This in turn has made it so that at times, when witnessing events unfold, such Proverbs as I learned from him, or throughout the rest of my life, come unbidden to my mind when an appropriate situation befitting their ages old wisdom, and or irony, occurs. Top Nine Reasons A Democratic President Can't Handle the War on Terrorism
John Hawkins (hat tip - Wizbang) has nine solid reasons a Democratic President can't handle the war on terrorism. 1) The Democratic insistence on treating the war on terrorism as a law enforcement issue will make it extremely difficult to deal with terrorist groups. When you have heavily armed terrorists ensconced in foreign nations, sometimes with the approval of their government, it's simply not practical to capture them, read them their rights, and take them back to America for trial. That is something that should be obvious after that approach was tried by Bill Clinton in the nineties and it... ... morePosted at 11:23 AM

Peaceful Iran? Clips From Iranian TV Tell A Story Of Intended War On America And The West
If this short compilation of clips on the Iranian Nuclear program, Iranian Military program, Ahmadinejad, and Ayatollahs doesn't convince you that Iran intends nothing less than the attainment of nuclear weapons and the destruction of America, then you deserve your fate should we fail to stop them - now. Interestingly, we learn today that Iran may want to talk. In the video we learn how Iran uses "talk and negotiation" and the diplomatic process to buy time to develop their weapons. The game of diplomacy is being lost by the West and won by the Iranians, as they offer hope... ... morePosted at 12:37 PM
Major Surgery Required On AP Stories To Remove Anti-American Pro-Iranian Bias
That the AP is solidly anti-American isn't news, everyone knows about it. But when they go so far as to make it clear it isn't just opposed to a U.S. attack on Iran, it's actively on Iran's side - that's going beyond the pale and it has become The Al-Khamenei Press. However, to to be fair and balanced let's give the AP a little credit where it's due: Here's a surge as a surge is supposed to be done... ... morePosted at 12:08 PM

Is The U.S. Playing Harball In The Abduction Of An Iranian Diplomat?
Stratfor suggests the US is playing a bit of a game in the abduction of that Iranian diplomat ... who, Stratfor suggests, is an Iranian intelligence operative. Jules Crittenden considers this and other options such as the Sunnis, and reminds us that Teheran doesn't respect our diplomatic immunity or sovereignty of our embassy - so what obligation do we have to respect theirs? Along the same lines of thought, George Friedman and Kamran Bokhari point to two plausible options:... Given the tactical details of the operation and the geopolitical backdrop, there are two possible explanations for the incident. One is... ... morePosted at 9:57 AM

Global Warming, As We Think We Know It, Doesn't Exist.
Have you considered asking why is it that when scientists who have studied the Global Warming phenomenon for years say that humans are not the cause nobody listens? Dr. Tim Ball, Chairman of the Natural Resources Stewardship Project and former climatology professor at the University of Winnipeg says that since he obtained his doctorate in climatology from the University of London, Queen Mary College, England his career has spanned two climate cycles. Temperatures declined from 1940 to 1980 and in the early 1970's global cooling became the consensus. This proves that consensus is not a scientific fact. By the... ... morePosted at 7:40 PM

For Jacques Chirac, Nuclear Iran Is No Problem At All
Apparently Chirac, and perhaps many of our European allies as well, think that the old Soviet era concept of mutually assured destruction works for radical Islamists and an Islamic regime that prays for armageddon. Why else would he say something so outlandishly insane as, "If Iran had one or two nuclear weapons, it would not pose a big danger, and that if Iran were to launch a nuclear weapon against a country like Israel, it would lead to the immediate destruction of Tehran."?
