Today's Must Read: 'How Bush Lost the War on Terror' And What Our Future Leaders Must Know (If It Isn't Too Late Already)
Take-home message: Militant Islam means to convert, enslave, or exterminate the infidel non-Muslim world, depending on the degree of resistance encountered. The Koran demands it, and militant Islamists are implementing it wherever they have the critical mass to enforce it. Secular pluralism and a democratically established Rule of Law will not survive, absent protectors that exercise lethal force to defend it. This should be the litmus test of who should be our next president, and no other.Today's Hyscience pick for "You absolutely need to read this" is by Alex Alexiev, who reminds us that whether we call it Islamism, radical Islam or Islamofascism (or for that matter, even pretend it doesn't exist as do most liberal progressive anti-war types like the Kos Kids), radical Islam is an aggressive and violent millenarian movement parading as a religion that is no less reactionary and dangerous than its totalitarian predecessors Nazism and Communism. And although this reality is occasionally alluded to, not once has Washington fessed up to the fact that the threat we are currently facing never would have reached the critical levels it has without nearly thirty years of massive ideological, financial and operational sponsorship by the three pillars of Islamic extremism: Saudi Arabia, Pakistan and Iran:
Though they have their own sectarian and power-political quarrels, all three are united in their Islamist zealotry and their boundless hatred for the West.Continue reading: How Bush Lost the War on Terror ...It is worth reminding ourselves how much of our current unhappy predicament is the result of the decades-long subversive efforts of these sworn enemies of everything America stands for in order to understand the causes of our failure to make progress in this war.

Saudi Arabia, a reactionary medieval fiefdom subsisting on our oil rents, has spent, by its own admission, anywhere between $80 and $100 billion dollars over the past 30 years exporting its hateful Wahhabi creed worldwide and building a gigantic infrastructure of Islamism. There is not a city of any size anywhere in the West today that does not have a Saudi-controlled mosque, Islamic center or a madrassa, all preaching hatred and violence against the infidels. In the United States, at least half of the mosques are owned by the radical Wahhabi organization North American Islamic Trust (NAIT) and most of what claims to be the Muslim establishment is in the hands of radical Islamists.
Nor is there any evidence that these subversive activities have been curtailed since we kindly declared Riyadh to be our "strategic ally" in the war on terror. Both state-controlled Islamic 'charities' and Saudi "golden chain" billionaire zealots continue to pump billions into radical Islam and none of the financial controls the Saudis promised us years ago appear to have been set up. Worse than that, there is ample evidence that the Kingdom is actively sabotaging our efforts in Iraq in a variety of ways - as our UN representative and former ambassador to Iraq, Zalmay Khalilzad, has stated publicly - including supplying some 50% of the suicide bombers. As a reward for these helpful Saudi activities, the Bush Administration is now committed to giving to them billions of dollars worth of the latest U.S. military technology.
