Example Of Torture For The Totally Confused

The AP is carrying the story of yet another torture center being found in Iraq. The details provide a striking reminder that while the U.S. is hampered by the Left and PC fools that don't really understand what constitutes torture, our enemy has no such hindrances and takes full advantage of the difference. Making someone physically uncomfortable can sometimes be necessary to save lives, which, for the benefit of our nutty friends on the far Left, is a vastly different purpose than that of radical Islamists, who not only go far beyond discomfort to beyond the point of extreme pain... ... more

'Overdosing On Public Piety' In Politics

Via Andrew Stuttaford at NRO, Krauthammer writes what needs to be written:[...] Mitt Romney declares, "Freedom and religion endure together, or perish alone." Barack Obama opens his speech at his South Carolina Oprah rally with "Giving all praise and honor to God. Look at the day that the Lord has made." Mike Huckabee explains his surge in the polls thus: "There's only one explanation for it, and it's not a human one. It's the same power that helped a little boy with two fish and five loaves feed a crowd of 5,000 people." This campaign is knee-deep in religion, and... ... more

'The Muslim Libel Cases': Nothing Less Than 'Legal Jihad'

As Anti-Jihadist points out, "the Muslim jihad against the west and their other enemies is not just with bombs or babies, It's also about taking full advantage of Western laws and courts and using those to silence anyone who questions Islam or is against Sharia." And although "much hay was made in the blogosphere of the 'Flying Imams' case, it is just the tip of the iceberg: "History is also full of cases by Islamic organizations and individual Muslims who try to use Western litigation to stop the fountain of knowledge. When it comes to the legal merits, they almost... ... more

Saudis give big to promote Islamic studies in U.S.

Our "friends" the Saudis are still paying big bucks to "promote understanding and change America's perceptions of Islam in the most fertile place, the university campus" (more correctly - prosylitize wahabbism - the most violent form of Islamism). As Robert Spencer puts it, they are spending big to promote Islamic studies their way - deception and half-truth, vilification of truth-tellers, and an overarching supremacist agenda. The result is that American universities have been allowing themselves to be purveyors of Saudi influence and opinion. According to Zuhdi Jasser, a Phoenix physician and a Muslim who is chairman of the American... ... more

A 'Perfect Storm': When ODNI's 'Walmart Approach' To Intelligence Gathering Is Combined With The NIE Authors' Political Agenda (Updated)

I had to think twice about which category to put this post under - "political news and commentary"or "Iran." I blame my confusion on an intelligence community that has trouble separating their own political views and agendas from the facts, while putting out half-truths in intelligence reports in order to influence foreign policy. After considerable consideration, I've decided on the more appropriate - "political news and commentaries." After all, it seems to me that we all ought to be asking if the misguided release of a half-truth NIE resulted from the actions of political hacks inside our intelligence community, from... ... more

Professor Advocates Covert Action vs Iran

This was a talk given 4 December at the Solera Restaurant in Minneapolis Minnesota. Professor John Radsan cites successes with covert action against Iran in the 1990s and briefly reviews the history of US policies on Iran. Crossposted to The Satellite News... ... more

New NIE a Sign of Deals in the Air?

In a regular column on her website, veteran analyst Raghida Dergham speculates on the possible significance of the recent US National Intelligence Estimate which declares that Iran halted its nuclear weapons program in 2003. She suggests this may be an internal US coup d'etat intended to deprive President Bush of the option of going to war with Iran, and cites recent events such as Iranian president Ahmadinejad's first-ever attendance of a meeting of the Gulf Cooperation Council, and a visit to Syria by Jordan's King Abdullah II. Read the article here. Crossposted to The Satellite News.... ... more

Zuhdi Jasser: 'Exposing the "Flying Imams'

We've previously noted that the entire "praying imams" event fits squarely in the Islamist agenda to use our freedoms and legal systems against us and was planned, evidenced by the almost immediate request by Muslim Congressman-elect Keith Ellison to meet with executives of US Airways and the Metropolitan Airports Commission. The "playing out of an agenda" has been so obvious that it was actually hypothesized in an Investors Businesss Daily editorial, then proven. Now in The Middle East Quarterly - Winter 2008, M. Zuhdi Jasser of the American Islamic Forum for Democracy, takes the "Flying Imams" and their attempt... ... more

Skepticism Mounts Over NIE Findings

It didn't take the liberal, openly anti-administration, Democratic-spin meister media a nanosecond to pounce on sentences and phrases in the NIE report that provided the most politically advantageous cover for hiding our national head in the sand while the Iranians danced with glee over America's latest swallowing of an Iranian taqiyya. pill (religiously-sanctioned deception, or "holy dissimulation"). Simply put, to believe Iran shut down its nuclear weapons program in 2003 in response to international pressure -- based on a single, unvetted source who provided information to a foreign intelligence service and has not been interviewed directly by the United States,... ... more

Saying that 'Radical Islam wants us dead' is a truism and denying it is societal suicide.

While the jihadists act on their Islam, flaunt their Islam, and aggressively push their Islam among peaceful Muslims, non-Muslims must evidently see no Islam, hear no Islam, speak no Islam, and pretend that what is happening has completely different causes and motivations from what the jihadists themselves explain them to be.- Robert Spencer. In today's vernacular, radical Muslims are often referred to as jihadists and without exception, all jihadists are Muslims. Clearly, jihadists justify their actions by referring to Islamic teachings, they gain recruits by portraying themselves as the pure and true Muslims, and they murder non-Muslims and even Muslims... ... more

Peace-loving Islamist Is Offended Over Post On Radical Islamists - Threatens Beheading

One can always count on Islamists defining themselves with their own behavior. Take for example the following comment left on our post titled, On Moderate Muslims - in which we asked, ""Just where did all the moderate Muslims go to." Commenter "Aysha" writes on December 5, 2007 at 12:55 AM:If I were there or you were here, I would behead you! Remember you have been already beheaded! No other person should suffer for what you did but only you! From Ethiopia (Understand -the poorest country in the world)As Mark Steyn asks in the same post, "What if we've already had... ... more

About That Intelligence Report On Iran's 'Stopped' Nuclear Weapons Program

Why is it that the new assessment by American intelligence agencies concluding that Iran halted its nuclear weapons program in 2003 and that the program remains frozen, contradicting judgment two years ago that Tehran was working relentlessly toward building a nuclear bomb, leaves me with this spine-tingling feeling that not only does something smack of political agenda on the part of our intelligence community - again, but also a "more than a little bit" of a leap to judgement based on - what? After all, haven't we been down this road before when our "intelligence community" failed to "connect the... ... more

Important Perspectives On The Teddy-Bear Intifada

Although I linked to "Not Child's Play - The teddy-bear intifada" at NRO in a previous post today, calling it required reading - important perspectives from writers knowledgeable of Islamism, two particular pieces stand out in my mind and cause me to give them more attention. Tawfik Hamid, currently a medical doctor and Muslim reformer living in the West, and a former member of the Islamist terrorist group - Jemaah Islamiya, has this to say about the silence of the world's Muslims over the teddy-bear riots in Sudan. The heads of national security in the West should listen to what... ... more
