Broadcast 29 September on Iranian state satellite TV (IRINN) Announcer: While returning from New York in an exclusive interview with IRINN's correspondent, the president of the republic discussed the accomplishments of his trip. Mahmoud Ahmadinejad: I think there were very great accomplishments, much more extensive than we expected. In general I knew that this would not be a natural or peaceful visit for many reasons. Parts of the US government as well as the Zionists were certainly not going to tolerate Iran's president of the republic, who is after all a cultural and university figure, speaking plainly about the... ... more

The Blackwater Incident In Iraq

Blackwater being banned from Iraq by Iraq's Interior Minister, the Islamist - Jawad Bulani, is all over the cable media today, with CNN International putting on what could only be described as an anti-Blackwater hit piece featuring the anti-blackwater, ultra-liberal, author and moonbat exraordinaire - Jeremy Scahill. Blackwater's position is that a State Department convoy protected by Blackwater was violently attacked by armed insurgents, not civilians, and the Blackwater security contractors did their job, as they damned well should have - they fired back to defend human life - their own and the lives of the people their job was... ... more

An "Anti-Propaganda" Opinion: 'Islam versus the free world'

We aren't fighting a war against terrorists to win the hearts and minds of the Middle East. We are fighting it to end the threat of terrorism. Victory can't be achieved with bullets and bombs alone. This is, at its core, an ideological war. Just as we defeated communism by defeating the communists' ideology, we need to attack and destroy that of the radical Islamists. - Jed BabbinOnly the most dim witted liberal progressives of the George Soros/MoveOn.org variety could fail to recognize that radical Islam threatens the very existence of the free world and the lives of peace-loving Muslims... ... more

Greenspan Has It All Wrong

Surely, by now, you've heard "Greenspan's shocker," that the Iraq war is largely about oil. "Largely," about oil? The "old geezer," as Jules Crittenden puts it, "needs to have a chat with his researchers." It's not that the world's single most important strategic resource isn't worth fighting for, which it is, but then, as importantly, there's those other not-so-little issues such as "peace, truth, justice, the American way," and "slightly less abstract threats to U.S. national interests and security" such as "preventing a new training ground for future terrorist attacks against America, the evidence of Saddam's track record and ongoing... ... more

For days now anonymous US officials and officials of other countries have spoken of a mysterious Israeli strike inside Syria - with talk ranging from suggestions it was aimed at a shipment of weapons to Hizbollah from Iran, to suggestions Syria could be building a nuclear facility with North Korean help and the Israelis. Kurdish Opposition in Iran

Domestic opposition to the central government in Tehran is known to be widespread, but has been difficult to substantiate and quantify because of the severe restraints on free public expression in Iran. Kurdish opposition to the IRI in Western Iran has always been much more pronounced and has been violently targeted for years, most notably in the Mykonos killings in Germany in 1992, in the Vienna assassinations in 1989 and in recent border clashes with Iranian Kurds in Iraq, which are now seen as a key element in rising tensions between Iran and the US.
